About the Band

Since 1970, the North York Temple Band’s mission, as a vital part of the corps (church) ministry, has been to spiritually nourish its members, while evangelizing the gospel of Jesus Christ to people around the world.

Throughout its rich heritage, the band has dedicated all its efforts to the glory of God. Under Bandmaster Glenn Barlow, the band has been privileged to participate in a broad spectrum of music ministries within the community. From Sunday nursing homes and morning worship services, to the stage of Roy Thomson Hall, the band continues to thank God for its ministry opportunities and, through prayer and action, continues to rededicate its services back to Him.

The band has witnessed at many venues around the city including Timothy Eaton Memorial Church’s annual ‘Christmas Spectacular’ show as well as the annual ‘The Glory of Easter’ at the Toronto Centre for the Arts. The band has also featured at Roy Thomson Hall on several occasions such as ‘Concert for Asia’ and more recently ‘The Big Sing’ where the band provided support to a choir of 1000 voices. The band will return this November to Roy Thomson Hall for a repeat of The Big Sing which will feature singing sensation Colm Wilkinson, the 1000 voice chorus and massed pipes and drums of the Highland Creek Band.

As you look around and enjoy the band’s website, our desire for you is that you would be refreshed, revitalized, and above all moved closer to a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
